Release conditions from Supreme court to Arvind Kejriwal
As Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal receives a much awaited interim bail in the excise policy case today the same comes with five strict conditions .
The Apex Court bench comprising of Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Sanjiv Khanna granted CM Kejriwal a 21 day interim bail until the 1st of June 2024 and is to surrender on 2nd June , this enables Arwind Kejriwal to campaign during the ongoing lok Sabha elections Before setting the five conditions the apex court bench as instructed Kejriwal to not contact any witnesses involved in the excise policy case further more stating that it would be a breach of release conditions which are as follows
1) A personal Bond of Rs 50000 must be furnished by Arvind Kejriwal before being released
2) The chief Minister is prohibited from making any public comments in ref to his involvement in the Excise Policy case
3) Arwind Kejriwal is barred from any interaction with witnesses involved or accessing any official files related to the Excise policy case
4) He is prohibited from signing any official files unless deemed necessary by the Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena
5) Arwind Kejriwal is strictly prohibited from visiting the Delhi Secretariat and the chief minister’s office
The Release of Chief Minister Arwind Kejriwal comes as a morale boost to the Aam Aadmi Party which contest for four out of seven lok Saba seats and are in alliance with the Congress Party
