Arvind Kejriwal anticipates Interim bail from Supreme Court Today
Ever Since the arrest made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED ) on 21 March 2024 , The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP anticipates an interim bail as the Supreme court may announce a verdict today , During a hearing of a petition filed for interim bail on Tuesday the court stated that in view of the up coming elections that if Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail and released ! it would not want him to discharged of his official duties , however the court also reserved the order later and In response to prejudge mental statement made by the court the ED has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court strongly opposing any “special treatment” for political figures .
This case pertains to the alleged corruption and money laundering during the formulation and the execution of the liquor Excise policy for 2021 to 2022 which has been scrapped by the Delhi government ,On evading nine court summonses the Supreme Court finally upheld Kejriwal’s arrest on April 9 after citing his repeated refusal to join the investigation and attend summonses. The Supreme Court had issued a notice to the ED on 15 April concerning Kejriwal’s plea and sought their response. Kejriwal has been in judicial custody in Tihar Jail ever since his arrest on 21 March 2024 ,The Aam Aadmi Party anticipates that Interim bail will be granted to Arvind Kejriwal
